No, you can blame this one squarely on the Education system here in America. The Democrats constantly stick up for the morally broken, Union-wielding Teachers Union for teaching anything that is socially in vogue at the time. Then , going to college, the kids get brainwashed by left-leaning educational "terrorists" that promote almost anything except discipline and conservative theories. You can see the extremes in France, with students rioting because the French Gov't tried to pass a law a few years ago to allow companies to fire or lay off workers. They think they're OWED a job for life! Same in America, students think they're "entitled" to things by right. The Constitution only guarantees you the right to PURSUE happiness, not be GUARANTEED happiness by some kooky left-wing standards. So the school system ( and the parents who let them get away with it, my Dad and Mom didn't, I went to private school after the busing and integration began without discipline and fairness ) is the main culprit for instilling this attitude that the System owes you ( which is what Socialism stands for, take from the productive to give to the unproductive ). There's no tacit agreement, it's just that the liberal arts / communications majors all go to Leftie schools, where Conservatism and Business and Commerce and Industry are the enemy, and not allowed to flourish, nor the thoughts that promote them. GOD forbid that! (oops, they don't allow mention of God either, the secular cretins! )
So, as long as the Conservative Right doesn't operate schools, or allowed to express their constitutionally guaranteed views inside a school, we will be continually at the mercy of a slanted Press corp, which feeds it's bloated Liberal appetite with the chum churned out by the elitist school system(s) in this Country...God save America!

First, to the guy above, capitalism is not dead. Its alive and well. France's recent elections are a prime example. China has even though politically Communist has adopted a number of capitalist philosophies that's part of the reason for there economic growth. The fall of the USSR.... I could go on forever.
Now to the original question. It sounds like you've read too much Michael Savage. Yes its been proven that number of headlines and reporters "angles" on stories have a SLIGHT liberal slant but the language you use is extreme like ultra right wingers. I think over all in our country there is a good balance between the right and left. This is a good thing. The media is only a part of the whole that is our country. If you want to be concerned about something what about the court system overriding a public vote.

The Media is only as liberal as the people (and even that is questionable...)
Population VS. Voting Demographics
Why the government is Republican but the people are Democrats.
-- 3 Blue States ---
population
19,306,183 New York
36,457,549 California
12,831,970 Illinois
68,595,702 Total
# of Senators - 6
# of Representatives - 101
--- --- --- --- ---
-- 7 Red States ---
population
01,436,453 Idaho
23,507,783 Texas
06,313,520 Indiana
11,478,006 Ohio
06,038,803 Tennessee
02,764,075 Kansas
01,818,470 W. Virginia
53,357,110 Total
# of Senators - 14
# of representatives - 77
Republicans own more land... therefore, they get more votes in the Senate.
So when there is a majority of Democrats in both the House and Senate - then America's true population is being represented... not just the people who own the most land in America.

There is something unwholesome and sinister about the modern media. It wasn't until I started watching Fox News and reading non-mainstream media that I realized how the media was directing my thoughts. By selectively presenting the news to me, they formed my point of view.
If the news media is simply supposed to present the news, whether it is good or bad, positive or negative for Republicans or Democrats, why is there an overwhelming bias against Conservative ideas?
I read recently that over 80% of people in the media identify themselves as Liberal. No wonder.
If the media were really presenting the news fairly and accurately, why wouldn't they present stories like the following, which would attract huge amounts of attention? They would sell more magazines, get more newspaper subscriptions, etc. but they obviously don't want to present anything that does not fit their hidden agenda.
Stories the media hardly covered:
The declassified Venona report proved that Senator McCarthy was right about the Communists in our government. We had cracked the Soviet code they used to communicate to their operatives, so when McCarthy put someone on trial, he already knew everything that person had said and done. Regrettably, he wasn't able to capitalize on this without revealing to the Soviets that their code was no longer secret.
There appears to be concrete proof Saddam Hussein moved his WMDs to Syria right before the invasion. This would not only change our attitude about the Iraqi conflict but vindicate our President. (see the 3 links below)
UN Security Council Representatives from France, Germany, and Russia were getting bribed by Saddam Hussein via the Oil For Food scandal. In exchange for voting "no" each time to fulfill the resolutions passed against Iraq for serious violations, these people got millions of dollars in bribes. This is now common knowledge. Why wouldn't the press make this ftont page news? The New York Times had at least 47 front page articles on Abu Ghraib, but none I know of regarding this. A bit suspicious, wouldn't you say?
Obviously, the press is extremely selective in what they present. Each of these stories deserves massive coverage, but the mainstream press downplays them. They are slowly brainwashing us. This explains why otherwise rational people would vote for someone like Hillary Clinton.

Good question... It's been going on for my entire life, and as far as I can tell, much of my fathers life as well.... That puts it back to the 1920s and I suppose that it goes further back than that. Remember that the NYT got a Pulitzer for reports on Stalin and the USSR that was in fact a Puff piece at best and, in fact, was a total lie and cover up. The Press has nothing crow about and is arrogance personified.

I have been following Al Jazeera for more than 4 years. I have found them to be unbiased, factual and most importantly .HONEST !, what little US news I have watched is like watching some sick joke piss take of a news station, appalling and very low in anything of interest.I was raised listening the the BBC World Service and I class Al Jazeera as good as the BBC

Armagedon.... the voters read too!
If the media were to cater to JUST those who run the gov't and those who have money and control the gov't. THEN: every newspaper would be as boring as the WALL STREET JOURNAL!
