As long as the bolt pattern matches up and the spud gasket(the gasket between the tank and bowl)match. You will also need to know if your toilet is a 10 in or 12 in rough-in. This is the distance from the wall to the mounting bolts on the floor. You may also be able to find the same tank at your local plumbing supply warehouse. These places specialize in hard to find items.

Basically, if the holes for securing it are the same distance apart and the bottom of the tank does not have extremely different configuration, it should work. Only problem you may have is the rubber seal that goes between the tank and bowl sealing. Crane has outlets where you may be able to find the correct tank or you could check online.

The wax ring at the floor is the problem. Turn off the water supply, flush the toilet, wetvac out the remaining water in the tank. Disconnect the water supply under the tank, and remove the toilet. You will see some foul smelling stuff. Clean it up and remove the wax ring. Replace the wax ring. The toilet flange should be resting on top of the finished floor. If it is not you may get by with doubling the wax ring but the best thing is to redo the toilet flange. Some wax rings come with a funnel attached. Befor doing any plumbing work always know where the water shut off to the house is and how to shut it off. Good luck.

If you are not sure what to do then rtake off the tank and either take it with you or clean the bottom well and make a papwe pattern denoting where the holes are and the main flush hole os.
I would bet there are several that would fit.

Another tank may well fit. Try it. But, it shouldn't cost that much to replace the whole thing and you would eliminate the possibility that it won't fit.
