I want to be clear... I do not have a problem with anyone trying to make a better life for them selves... BUT this legislation really just burns my hide. Not only can we not absorb the 12 - 15 MILLION not to mention the bill will allow their family members clear passage here too... the social security system is teetering on bankruptcy, we will pay through taxes an average of $15 - $30 thousand dollars a year to each on any one of the current 90 welfare programs. And what about all the immigrants who came here legally and are lawfully waiting in line to become citizens, this is not fair to them. This will just have the same effect as the Regan amnesty program, will send a message of come on up and enjoy the entitlements. This also has the real possibility of wiping out the GOP, and leaving a ONE party system, that would be devastating to this country.

THEY SAY: This is not an amnesty and not instant citizenship.
They are correct that this is not instant citizenship (which might not come for 18 years). But it IS "instant legalization" that allows legal residence and work in the U.S.
Immediately after the amnesty bill is signed into law, all 12-20 million illegal aliens can sign up, give their fingerprints and -- if the fingerprints don't kick up a criminal record in the first 24 hours -- get instant legalization papers. One they get those papers, they can stay in the United States the rest of their lives, whether or not they ever decide to apply for a Z-visa or green card or eventually citizenship (unless they are found later to be terrorists or fail to meet a few obscure criteria that may or may not ever be enforced).
Then call these key Senators:
Majority Leader Harry Reid: 202-224-5556
Minority Leader Mitch McConnell: 202-224-3135
Sen. Arlen Specter: 202-224-4254
Sen. Mel Martinez: 202-224-3041
Sen. Lindsay Graham: 202-224-5972
Sen. John McCain: 202-224-2235
Minority Whip Trent Lott: 202-224-2708

Not only email, but fax and CALL them!!!
They're using our pressure to do something about illegal immigration as an EXCUSE for their betrayal. They are saying that if you had remained quiet, they might have allowed the status quo and not signed on to rewarding 12-20 million illegal aliens with permanent residence. But it was your complaints about illegal immigration that pushed them to this radical act! When you call, tell them you weren't asking for just "anything" to be done. No, you were asking that the laws on the books be enforced to cause illegal aliens to return home. Granting them permanent access to our jobs is the opposite of what you wanted. This is a bipartisan issue-with Obama, Tancreo, Romeny and Gingrich decrying the bill--Hillary is of course wavering.
If you don't want amnesty--don't give up. Are you willing to CALL YOUR SENATORS?

Nothing new. Congress has sold out the American people for decades...it doesn't matter whether we are Democrats or Republicans...once these jokers get to Washington they become part of a Federal Government that is completely out of touch with the will of the American people.
And you thought we would never agree on something.

If you mean "we" as citizens, then that does appear to be the goal of some of those congress critters.
I have an idea!
If they can give amnesty to illegal invading criminal aliens, they surely they can grant a blanket amnesty/pardon to citizens that protect and defend by taking up arms against that Mexican State Sponsored Invasion, and by opposing, end it!
Helping ones self is low life cowardly theft, defending from invading criminals is just Proper Natural Law!

Of course they sold us out. Did you really believe a rich, aristocratic lady like Nancy Pelosi was going to change the status quo? She's been an insider so long, she went on a date with John F. Kennedy for crying out loud!
If you really want to get rid of amnesty, have an Administration serious about stopping illegal immigration, then you have to vote for Ron Paul. No one else has the guts to do anything. He kind of reminds me of Andrew Jackson.

Yes, they sold us out when they let La Razza sit in on the Immigration Bill negotiations and gave them 'veto' power over proposed items in the bill. There were no representatives involved for the American citizens. We do not matter to our government.

Bush sure screwed you guys good. Way to energize your party just before primary season. Bush's leadership is a fine example of how to take the Grand Old Party and dump it down the drain. Don't you just love Bush. I wish you GOP people would pick smarter people of your group. Next time pick a person who actually took the classes at Yale.
I can't help it...I love blaming Bush for everything. Force of habit. Plus it is fun.
