My GOD.... what are they TEACHING for History these days?... No wonder Americans don't know history... their own, or anyone Else's.
Particularly appalling is the answer that Hitler and Russia were allies... FOR THE RECORD... Hitler INVADED RUSSIA.. geesch.! What you may be taking out of context is the Non-Aggression pact that Hitler signed with Stalin just prior to invading Poland and Hungary... he didn't want to fight the Russians at that early stage in the war... but it was quickly broken when Hitler invaded Russia... and it never really meant anything of substance.
The Axis powers (since the term "Allies" is ALWAYS used to denote the U.S., U.K., Russia; Australia, France, Belgium, The Netherlands etc) the Axis powers were Germany, Italy, Turkey, Japan and a few other players.
I have NEVER heard that the word MICKEY was EVER heard for a password. Americans referred to poorly made equipment as being "Michey Mouse" but it was NEVER a code word for ANYTHING other than shoddy workmanship... so I think someone made that up for you.

Germany's main allies were Italy and Japan. There were a few eastern european contrie too. Romania changed sides early in the war Germany had a not aggression pact with Russia which fell apart when Germany invaded Russia.
The Axis
Originally founded on the concept of the Rome-Berlin-axis (the Pact of Steel), later the Tripartite Pact, the Axis was not primarily a formal alliance. Each of the major countries went to war on their own initiative (Nazi Germany in 1939, Italy in 1940, and Japan in 1937 against China and 1941 against USA), and not necessarily to assist each other. There was little sharing of technology or resources, and also little in the way of cooperative strategic planning between the major Axis Powers.
With the demise of Italy, Germany and Japan each functioned as wholly separate powers, each conducting the war in their theatre (Germany in Europe and Japan in the Pacific). There were a number of smaller powers on the side of the Axis, although for the most part the war effort was directed and powered by Germany and Japan.

The Tripartite Pact of September 27, 1940, allied Germany, Italy, and Japan and became known as the Berlin-Rome-Tokyo Axis, or Axis alliance. These three countries recognized German hegemony over most of continental Europe; Italian hegemony over the Mediterranean; and Japanese hegemony over East Asia and the Pacific.
During World War II, the Axis came to include Slovakia (November 1940), Hungary (November 1940), Romania (November 1940), and Bulgaria (March 1941). Finland fought with Germany against the Soviet Union but did not sign the Tripartite Pact and was not technically part of the Axis alliance. Yugoslavia joined the Axis alliance on March 25, 1941, but withdrew two days later after an anti-German coup. After Germany and its allies invaded and partitioned Yugoslavia, the newly established fascist satellite state of Croatia joined the Axis on June 15, 1941. Although an anti-democratic state sympathetic to the Axis, Spain refused either to join the Axis alliance or to enter the war with the Allies.

Turkey was neutral in WWII.Germany's allies were Italy,Japan,Finland(they fought USSR)and Romania.A number of countries joined the Germans unofficially such as Spain who provided troops on the eastern front. There were many who joined the Germans after their countries were invaded such as France who's troops faced the allies in operation Torch(the invasion of North Africa)Croatia and the Netherlands,Austria and Norway all recruited SS units from those countries youth who sympathised with the Nazis though this was conveniently swept under the carpet after the war.The Don Cossacks were Russians who fought against Russia for the Germans. The allies usually refers to the British and their allies and the Germans and their allies were referred to as the Axis powers after a treaty they signed.Don't know about Mickey.

Hitler replaced into very bitter while he learnt that Germany had misplaced the conflict. He replaced into enraged by using the Treaty of Versailles which made Germany vulnerable. as quickly as in power he replaced into desperate to opposite such an unfair Treaty and raise Germany to the noble place it as quickly as held. He rearmed Germany, remilitarised the Rhineland, took over Sudentendland and OOOPs! did no longer he sign an contract there? to no longer invade something of Czechoslovakia? Yup he did! yet Britain and France have been stupid in trusting Hitler. Hitler concept he could desire to rule the international now that he have been appeased all this time, yet he replaced right into a splash loopy to have faith Britain and France could purely permit him rule the universe. So he invaded Poland and BANG! WW II is on! Hitler replaced into precise in reversing the Treaty of Versailles which replaced into far from appropriate, yet he replaced into incorrect in breaking his agreements with Britain and France and the U.S..

Ireland, Turkey, Switzerland, Spain and Sweeden where pro german after 1939 but switched sides in 1945 when Germany posed no threat to them.
On top of this There was also the Independance forces in Persia (Iraq / Iran) and Egypt who was supported by the German forces.
Vichy Fance almost declared war on the British Empire in 1940 after the bombardement of the French North African Fleet when it refused to Surrender and a force of bombers where sent to attack Gibraltar in retaliation.

Germany ,Italy, and Japan formed the Tripartite pact in 1941.
After Italy had been defeated, Germany and Japan went solo; Germany in Europe and Japan in Asia. Germany used Bulgaria as a satellite nation especially in the attack of the USSR along with Romania but to a lesser extent.
