Usually, Sleeplessness is caused due to various reasons such as stress, bad food habit, etc.,. Too much of sleep during the day time can make you go insomniac at night. Consumption of sleeping pills might put you to sleep for a while, but in the long run it will eventually spoil your health. Several studies have been conducted to find a natural remedy for insomnia, one of that is using nutmeg. Powdered nutmeg in milk or hot water can relax the nerves and induces peaceful sleep in a natural way.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!
1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.
2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.
The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net
Ohhh..and Good Luck!

I have RAGING insomonia that only added to my manic episodes so I DO take a sleeping pill. It's pretty awesome though, metabolizes in four hours and I never feel "hung over". But before I was willing to take a pill, my mom made a lavender spray and I sprayed my sheets with it. It's supposed to help sleep. I always keep the house at 68 or lower Take the hottest shower you can stand before bed And warm milk. If that doesn't work, look into Sonata. It's not too bad really.

Hi book,
Well I went through a bout of that a few years back. Awake at 3am, 5am etc.
It was to do with a bit of mental stress after a parting of the ways with my wife.Oh, an amicable seperation, but
I thought about going to my GP for sleepy pills, and was correctly told that they only help you to go to sleep, then wear off whilst you are sleeping.
I invented my own solution.
It is called a bottle of Jack Daniels.
No, not the whole bottle, but a goodly amount with coke at bedtime.
Slept like the proverbial log.
Perhaps not the best method, but no harm done.
I now sleep easily, as we are still good freinds.
I should not reccommend booze, but it does the trick.
All the best with it,
Bob

Due to family illness stress and family business stress things that I need to deal with, not sleeping had become the norm for me. I had tried prescriptions to help me sleep, over the counter meds, warm milk, and everything I could think of. Then, against everything that I could easily believe, I started sleeping really well.................because my husband brought home a 'memory pillow'! That really shocked me. I did not expect it to make any difference. Still, every night that I have used this pillow, I have slept all night, had rem time, and awakened feeling so rested! I don't sell these pillows, I just can't say enough about them to really impress upon people how differently it feels to sleep all night! It works for me.

oh, gosh that must be so difficult..I'm very sorry
in addition to the above, try taking a good quality multi-vitamin (7Seas Multi-Bionta is a good one to try, Boots seel it)& a separate calcium citrate(please see link below for a good brand) calcium is relaxing 9 that's why they recommend a glass of milk before bedtime). followed by a really nice warm shower or bath everynight (that's what I do)..showering washes away all your stresses...
also I swear by this prayer, do it for a week,(u have nothing to lose), & see what happens:
" any negativity & fear & phobias I'm carrying from any lifetime & this lifetime to be released right now into the White light of the Holy spirit."

I have found 5htp really helps me. I have seen a gp about insomnia but they will never prescribe anything. Take one roughly ten minutes before retiring. If this does not work and also if you suffer with stress you can increase the dose to one other capsule with your evening meal. You should really notice the difference with your sleep straight away. However if you do suffer with stress like I do it will take alonger time to help those symptoms in the day & you should seek help with a herbalist. Hope this helps and you finally get the sleep you need.

Try using Lavender essential oil. Put some in an oil burner and light it for about 30 mins before you go to bed. I find this really helps. Also when you go into bed try to be concsious of every part of your body and try to relax it all bit by bit, like start from your head then to your neck then to your shoulders etc. You could try getting a massage as this can greatly help on lots of levels. Reflexology and Reiki can also help

Your condition may be due to your mood. If you are living a stressful life, this is very normal. try looking over your diet. eat yogurt, drink milk. Do not drink too much coke and coffee, reduce red meat, instead try eating salads, fish, etc. these will keep your mind healthy and peaceful. When you go to bed try to relax and think about the things you like, not the things that stresses you. hope it helps.

Well I find that the best way to get a healthy relaxed feeling which will help you sleep better is to exercise regularly, yoga is excellent because it really helps you relax and de-stress but it doesn't have to be yoga if you don't want it to be, anything that makes you feel vibrant without knocking you out (it's important not to over do it!). although yoga has positions which are specifically for doing right before bed time because they really help sleep so its worth checking out...
also another good tip that you may want to try one night is to listen to yourself breathing when you're in bed! seriously... close your eyes and pretend that you're asleep and just listen to your breathing, try and concentrate only on the sound of the breathing in and out, its dead calming and usually helps to fall asleep. it might be relaxing enough to keep you asleep. good luck!
