It was film in 60's, I believe. I think the question was "why?"

There was movie called Colossus: the Forbin Project. (1970). It was about a super computer that became self-aware and teamed up with a similar one in russia. Before it completely took over the scientists tried to shut it down or trick it with solving the number of digits in Pi (endless).

Was it Hal in 2001- A Space Odyssey?-
an influential 1968 science fiction film directed by Stanley Kubrick. Today it is widely recognized among critics as one of the greatest films ever made.
I don't know about a question being asked- the computer was shut down by an astronaut on the ship due to it's ability to develop a mind of it's own and appeared to have made an error.

It was hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. Also if u type "the answer to life the universe and everything" into google, the inbuilt google calculator comes up and says 42. A bit of an easter egg.

There was a scene with someone asking a computer where the golden ticket was in Willy Wonka (1971 version) but I don't remember it breaking
