I'm doing a study on speed and the human body. I'm trying to figure out how many G's humans can withstand before dying.

The SR-71 reconaissance plane was capable of speeds over 2,000 miles per hour - the fastest jet ever made. As to how much g-force would kill a human being, it depends on how tough the human being is, and whether or not the application of that force was gradual or sudden. Pilots tend to pass out above forces of 9 - 11 "G's", and women seem to better at dealing with them.

Mach 3? No one knows if it ever did mach 3.

"The relative position or orientation of the subject is of prime importance in determining tolerable levels of gravitational or acceleration force, or "g force.' As the g force is gradually increased, certain effects are observed (table 1) . "
