There was electricity, but not many had it. There were piston driven gasoline engines in cars, but not many had that either. Technology was the plaything of the wealthy. The first phonograph recording was already in existence, but entertainment was mostly live... plays, musicals, and bands playing in the village square. Cameras had been around for quite some time by the early 1900's, and emails were sent by telegraph... but they weren't called emails back then... they were referred to as signals.
