Simply because of his originality and creativity with his lyrical content. Not to mention he actual had a message behind what he was saying, not just saying a bunch of frivolous nonsense to sell a record.
He wasn't/isn't a rapper, he is a lyricist. Rappers are what is out now, they have no talent or creativity. They just recycle a beat and say the same bs over and over again. Anybody can do that. It takes skill to do something better than that.

1. Eminem = Dont give a **** attitude+sick lyrics. U always get a laugh out that guy 2.
2. Immortal Technique- Hes raps about real ****, with helluva a good flow, and usually great beats.
3. Nas- He does it for the hood . Without him New York would be ******.

there is meaning to his every song
Tupac Shakur may be good ... but i dont like him as much as i like Em..

dr dre because he is the lyrical king and he knows how to rap plus hes got the rap gods 50 cent, eminem under his label aftermath entretainment. he has got bear years experience of rapping plus hes not made one crap song all his life. thats wot am talkin about.
