Currently Physics have some theories that explain how consciousness happens (quantum mechanics, 40-Hz, narrative centre of gravity, global workspace, relational mind). There is only one biological theory (dynamical systems theory and complexity) which is not acceptable by most of scientists; it says that complexity of brain network itself induces subjective experience. Based on every theory it can be predicted what will happen to the mind after death.

However, the nature of the question is such that I don't
think it is likely to be the subject of serious scientific
investigation. I believe in life after death. However, my belief is not based upon science, but upon religious faith.

LIfe is chain and its controlled by a very accurate law in which life is death and death is life coz when u r born for sure at the end u will die and when your dead u will be born again so dont think that death is a terrible thing its just the begining of new life .
As you accept life and adore it and thank God for it u should also thank him for death .
Life is gonna continue and i advice u to read an Arabic book called ( The Last Day) = (اليوم الاخير ) for (ميخاءيل نعيمة ) its wonderfull i read it and learned much from it.

As a Muslim,I strongly believe in what THE QUR'AN and Prophet MUHAMMAD revealed and told humanity as a whole;that after death there will be another life where all human beings will be returned to life-not that earthly life, but another kind of life- where ALLAH will award those who have done good deeds and punish those who have done bad deeds. This is called[The Doomsday] [Day of Resurrection][Judgment Day].
ALLAH created above the Seven Heavens---> Paradise and Hell where there will be no death in either of them.
But bear in mind that not all humankind believe in this ,and you also might find it difficult to believe this. Anyhow this is my own strong belief and I hope you can read about Islam and find out more about the reality of life after death.
you can just read it as a means of gaining knowledge and a way of getting to know more about another religion.
Best of luck

This question is a contradiction in terms. Once you are dead, there is no more life. Unless you are referring to "life" as "life of the living creatures", in which case it goes on. Death, unfortunately is the inevitable end to life - its one of the consequences of being alive - you won't be alive forever.
