When we were visiting colleges last summer for our HS Senior, one of the schools said it was a member of a college exchange program that let its students go to colleges all over the country for a semester, at the same tuition price, and receive full credit. It was like a Semester Abroad program, except for domestic schools. I can't remember which school told us about it. Does anyone know where I can find more details?

You're thinking of the Student Exchange program, which is a consortium of 180 colleges that let their students spend a semester at another participating school anywhere in the country. http://www.nse.org/

Some schools which don't participate in the National Student Exchange program will tell you that you take a leave of absence to go to another school for a semester. The foreign exchange office and your advisor could help you to make sure that credits transfer, but it isn't the same deal as with the NSE.

I don't think there is one specific program; usually, a college will have an exchange program set up with one or a number of other colleges. For example, a lot of the women's colleges, such as Mills and Agnes Scott, have exchange programs between the two schools.

To find what college you visited had this, do a search for each college you visited (no, really, this shouldn't take too long) and domestic exchange. Make sure to use quotes: "Yale" + "domestic exchange." Good luck.
