Avatars all look like models. Elflaeda is too slim and pretty to really represent me, I'm going to change her hair to grey. The dye is getting lighter in my hair and I'll be back to grey anyway in a couple of months.

How do you get grey hair? I have tried but all I have managed to get is blond, black, pink, brown. I like the grey hair; it better represents what my hair colour really is.

Dearest Elflaeda while I can't speak for anyone else the truth about my avatar is that if you saw the real me then you'd understand why kids are frightened of the bogeyman and I would not inflict that on the wider community.

It is all about marketing.I am 46 so I chose not to apply a picture.People are more about beauty than reality,you should know that.We seem to always look at the outer picture rather than within a persons heart.Sad but true.

I'd like to know how you get grey hair too, and nice smiley wrinkles. I hate people thinking I'm 25 when I'm 53!

Because thats how we see ourselves? How we looked on our good days? Wouldnt it be a shock if we could really see each other as we really look? Maybe it would put us off of coming on here LOL Imagine seeing a toothless cronie....a bald headed guy with one tooth poking from his lips....a cross eyed woman with unkempt hair....... a guy with tatoos all over his body. Would you come on then to chat to them LOL? Everyone is prettying themselves up to meet the Jones lol

We all want people to think we're good looking, and when people look at the avatars they're like... subconsciously thinking that each avatar represents you, no matter how different you are.
but mine's kinda similar.

I wondered that myself. And there's only two body types, both at opposite ends, nothing in the middle. (*shrug*) Of course, I suppose the point is, they are avatars and not pictures.

Avators are a way for people to be someone that maybe they are not.
They may represent who we want to be or look like, or they could just be pictures that people pick.
