I'm just echoing all the previous answers; he is probably really proud of you and your heritage; it's like bragging or showing off; he's basking in what he perceives is the glory of your country of origin.
My husband does this; I am a bit of an adventurer, like travelling to different place, like a challenge - I've put myself through college while working and raising a family, and have just signed up for an Antarctic expedition next year.
He's a home bird, not interested in anything like that, (though I've tried!), but he loves telling other people what I'm doing. I used to hate it, but now I realise he's really proud of me.

without knowing where you are from, we don't know what the problem is, or if there is one... you should never be ashamed of where you are from. you are obviously a foregin girl, and your husband tells people so that they know without having to guess. i am trying to think of a country you could come from that would cause embarrassment, and i am having difficulty... don't worry, like almost everyone said, he is proud of you and your heritage. if you don't want him to you could try telling him, and then you will probably leave the question open in people's minds, but if thats what you want...? where could it be? romania, the home of dracula and the beautiful carpathians? russia, a country rich in history and culture? thailand, exotic and far away? if people think less of you for being born where you were, then that is not your problem, its theirs. you can find someone anywhere who will have a bad thing to say about anything. the trick is to not listen to them, ok? take care and stay happy! :D

He's probably proud of you and wants to share. I do the same with my husband, who is from Europe.

I suspect that he's proud of the fact that he was able to find someone special that comes from a place different than himself. It makes your relationship special in his mind.

Maybe he doesn't have much to say about you or is proud about where you come from. Try giving him some better things to say about you when he's talking to people!
Good Luck!

Because he cannot read your mind - you may not be proud of where you come from. Just tell him not to say! simple as that!

Let him boast of his achievements if it does not hurt you. If it hurts tell him that you don't like it and you are happy to be introduced as his wife. May be he is proud of you and love you very much.

Well, if someone isn't obviously a native of Britain, it's only natural curiosity, politeness even, to ask where they are from. When I'm abroad I'm flattered if people ask where I'm from.
