When I tried lever 3, I saw the picture... and... it... startled me! Gosh, didn't see that coming!

Just carry on with the maze. It doesn't matter whether you hit the wall or not. After 3rd level you'll see a picture...

It is impossible to finish the maze.
But it is very much possible to reach what they made as end of it.
It could short my life for 10 years if it hadn't done that sometime ago.
