I have some or should say had some very nice day lillys until the rabbits chewed up the plant. I have a few left and I was wondering if thier is any way of keeping them from chewing on them without hurting the rabbit.

Well if you do not want to hurt the rabbits the only thing left is to protect the plants with a wire fence, like poultry wire. But that kind of defeats the purpose of have pretty flower, and having to put up an ugly fence to protect them. Another thing you may try is put hot pepper juice on the plants they like. I did this with a dog that was chewing on things she should not chew on. It won't hurt them, but they will stop.

Had a similar problem with birds. I dampened the day lillies and sprinkled them with cayenne. It didn't hurt the birds but it sure deterred them and after a week or so they leaned to leave them alone. You have to do it every time you wet the leaves though because it washes off.
