I don't think so. They can "detect" subtle changes in lighting and shades, since their senses are usually more developed in certain areas. In addition, they are also highly sensitive to feelings and touch, so unless they were not listening, feeling, or such, I don't believe they would simply fall asleep; again, their senses are much more developed in a certain sense.
