Have a Chevrolet Lumina 1996 model. Bought it second hand and was fine for the 40 days I owned. Then I noticed the Security Icon on Dashboard stays ON even after the car has started. The same used to come on and go off earlier, after the engine started. Now a days, the same stays ON. Can someone please help me?

the PATS chip that it's on the key it's falling, check if the the key or the chip it's dirty and or wet, if it's clean and dry and the security light still on you need to go get a replacement key to the dealer as soon as you can or it might left you stranded one day when the chip fails completely,

The light is illuminated on all start up events for bulb check and a systems check. If all anti-theft components check good the light goes off. If there is a fault or an improper voltage sent, the light will remain on. The easiest way to find which component has set off the light is to get the PCM scanned for codes which will lead you to a set of codes for the built in anti-theft or security codes. In these cars it usually involves the voltage being close to what is expected but still invalid. This is also usually the fault of the resistor pellet in the key or more likely the contacts or wiring of the ignition cylinder itself. The wires that connect the pellet usually break right where the wires enter the cylinder and will need to be replaced. Get it checked for codes first as there is a possibility of it being something else before tearing things down. Good luck.
