The cartoon was created by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises (Warner Bros. legend Friz Freleng and David DePatie)
The Panther shorts were first shown at the movies and then on tv along with other characters as The PP Show. It won 2 Oscars as well as a few Emmys.
A side note...one of the tv shorts that were part of the Pink Panther Show was "The Ant and The Aardvark"
Also... I remember eating Pink Panther Flakes as a kid in the 60's/70's. They were basically Pink Corn Flakes.
