My mom has diabetes. She tells her doctor that if she could give her something to get rid of the yeast infection or at least lessen it, but all the doctor says is that it wont go away until she controls her diabetes. Is this true?

yes, it is true. If your mom doesn't control her diabetes, there is way too much sugar in her blood, guess what yeast lives on? yup, sugar. Until she controls those sugar levels, she will have an over growth of yeast. You see yeast lives quite normally in the vagina, and it isn't usually a problem unless something gets out of balance, and then the yeast goes into over drive and grows and bingo, you have what is commonly called a yeast infection. If you don't take care of the balance problem, there is no treatment that will take care of the yeast.
Not to mention the damage high blood sugars do to the kidneys, the heart and all the other major organs of the body. If your mom doesn't do something to control her diabetes, she will die a whole lot sooner than later. Yeast will be the least of her worries.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment
