At this point, it goes on and on, there has been no proof of it coming back to a start point because there is no destined start or end. So for now, I say it goes on and on.

Good questions. The idea that you would get back to where you started depends real heavily on what you mean by a 'straight' line. Since the space-time continuum is bent by gravity, it's very possible that 'space' is actually a closed (in the topological sense) surface, so the answer would be yes..... assuming that you could travel fast enough. Think of it as a baloon that's expanding. If you start from sone point and travel 'straight' along the surface at a high enough rate of speed, you'll get back to where you started. But if the baloon is expanding fast enough, you won't.
As far as multiple dimensions, yeah, that's a given. But whether or not that implies 'alternate universes' is still an open question. It's one interpretation of many.

Space and time began with the big bang! If this true space is not the same as the void, the difference being that space is filled with electromagnetic fields created by matter so I would have to say that space is finite and coming back to a starting point is a possibility. Different dimensions and other universes are out there.

Here we have a classic question, space as it sounds would go on for ever, and no you would not return to starting place,& yes there are differant dimensions&universes, humans think the world revolves around the milky way.You need an open mind and try some metaphysical books, open up that treky mind and see what&where you might get

Differing theories abound as to whether space is contiually expanding, contiually contracting, or a combination of the two modalities.
Here is my theory, called appearant position. Imagine that your on the inside of a ballon, where you can figure an exact center for that ballon for a moment in time.( Remember Heisenbergs uncertainty principle) Now imagine that this balloon you are " in" also represents an atom of another larger balloon. Your appearant position is "inside" the balloon, but "outside" in relationship to the other larger balloon. To make matters more complicated, BOTH balloons are expanding, or maybe contracting, depending on the whims of the universe at that Plank instant. Appearant position is also affected by rotation, orbital oscillation, and in the case of black holes, quantum conversion and reconversion events. Space, in my view, is an ocean of water and oil, constantly emuslifiying and coalescing, seperating and blinking in and out of an energy/matter cloud both contracting locally and systematically at the same time it is expanding locally and systmeically. The paradox is that you might return to your starting point before you actually traveled very far from it if you happen upon a black hole or other conversion event horizon. It's like an ever changing ball of swiss cheese, and you never know whether you are in the cheese or in a hole!
In other words, space follows , in general, quantum and atomic modeling. some areas of space expand, and some contract. Some rotate and some are rotated around DEPENDING on the observers apperant position relative to that object/system being observed.( The driver of a sports car thinks the trees are passing by very fast/ the guy standing on the street thinks the car is speeding by very fast. The cop on the motorcycle just wants to give him a ticket, but he has to change his real and appearant position in relation to all 3 in order to do it. )
Or another way to look at it is: If you make your self the center of your Universe, everything is exocentric. Unfortunatly, the guy next to you in the Zendo just made HIMSELF the center of the Universe, so, sorry buddy, move over...
UH OH... what about Multiverses? dang it, back to the drawing board...
AND Furtha more, ha cha cha cha... imagine sub space.( not the star trek kind specifically) but that area of existance that is dictacted directly by sub quark level( boson, meson and lepton reactions) that indirectly/directly effect reality as observed by us? How many directions/dimensions can energy exist in? Is there distance in energy?
All of this is relative to space, and time( that's a can a worms....) But the most important thing is to realize that your are here, and then you are there, even if you don't move at all. ( That's what they mean when they say you need to find yourself....) Have fun THINKING about this, but don't forget to live your life while you do.

I think space is kinda like on Scooby Doo when they are being chased by the creepy guy they met in the beginning that is actually the bad dude they are after that is trying to run everyone off so he can take the hidden gold money for himself, but during the chase the run thru a door, and come out thru the door acroos the hall, just to run back thru the same door again.
Think of it as a continues loop, or if you are standing in front of door looking in a dark room, with the exact same door behind you. You then throw a ball into the door in front of you, and it hits you in back of the head. Either that, or I am in a drug induced Dr. Seuss nightmare.

You are getting answers from people, who watched too many Star Trek movies.
Only in Star Trek "space-time continuum" can be bent by gravity or by "Q." Remember "Q" ? Not a nice guy. Oh, sometimes Seven, you remember her for sure, pushes a button and sends a "Graviton Pulse" to bend something. She can do it because she is the only one wearing high heals on the ship.
Why people can't believe that Universe has no beginning and no end?

Hi.I wish i had an answer but i honestly don't know.I know the universe is enormous and may just go on forever or it could have an end like a sphere. The universe may be one sphere among many other universes in their own spheres until there are billions of spheres containing their own universes and eventually ending up with as many universes as there are stars in own own universe. Impossible?

Space does have a FINITE point... It does end!!! Einstein! Read about it! There is a fourth dimension its called TIME! ... like Space-Time. You have 4 dimensions.
Read the Space-Time Continuem.
