cd rw ----- cd rewriteable --------- meaning you can record something, then if you change your mind you can erase it and re record new stuff.

a song is usually around 4MB

cdrw's usually holds up to 750 MB

you can put movies, pictures, text, or music, or whatever you want on them. Data is Data.

you can download movies off the net that can fit the size of the cdrw, or make a copy of a dvd onto your computer and "compress" it to fit the cdrw.

i have movies like that (yes full length movies and great quality) and they range from 400mb to 800mb depending on how long the movie is.

Movies on cd-rws play on my computer just fine.

but dvd quality movies (known as a VOB format are at least 4.5 gb thats 6X bigger than the cdrw) will not fit.

meaning you probably won't be able to play it in a dvd player and watch it on the tv ever. unless its vcd and you have a vcd dvd player.

it doesn't matter what you store on the disk. data is data. period.

You can copy any kind of file (data, music, video etc) to a cd-rw or dvd-rw. The differences lie in the capacity and the options for playing/reading the disk.

Genearlly, a CD-RW will have a capacity of about 700 mb, a DVD-RW, about 4700mb (4.7gb). Typically, a mp3 music track will take up about 4 to 5 mb so you get about 140-150 tracks on a cd-rw and a movie between 4 and 4.5 gb.

Most hi-fi cd players will NOT play a CD-RW. Similarly, most DVD players will NOT play a DVD-RW. So you need to be sure that the device in which you want to use the new disk will actually play it!

in case you have chose to place movies on a cd you will could desire to purchase some DVD+RW or DVD-R for the movies. CD's are purely for song and records. in case you have chose to recognize the diffrence between CD-RW, CD-R and CD+RW. right here that's CD-RW------ A rewritable disc so which you will delete issues and burn it back. variety of like a USB CD-R-------- purely a CD so as quickly as you burn it which would be it no burning back for that cd. CD+RW A rewritable disc like the main appropriate one i desire I helped :)

It can be used for both and for data as well. If you want to record full-length movies you will need a minumum of a dvd-rw, preferably a dual-layer one. A regular dvd-rw can only write a little over 4 gigabytes, while a dual layer can hole almost 9 gigabytes (i.e., a full length movie without compression or loss).

It's to record music on to. When I tape onto a CD-RW I find it doesn't play on all CD players so I use CD-R. DVD -R/-RW +R/+RW are for taping films on to. But you can also use these to back up stuff on your computer. I use these to back up i-tunes. They have more room on them. Hope this helps.

CD-RW is a rewritable disc for music. If you want it for movies, get a DVD-RW.

a cdrw (comapct disk re-writtable) is a disk used for copying data on to,cd disk can handle up to 700mb(or 80minutes)of data
cdrw disks are made by simply spraying a chemical on a plastic disk, the chemical used makes it possible to burn data on to the disk
cdrw can be erased by using burning software such as nero, however cdrw disks have slower burning speeds than a 1 use cdr disk
cdrw disks normally burn at around 2 to 4 speed,so using cdrw on large amounts of data is unadvisable
good luck mate
