Novalee Nation...great name for a character in a movie...but i don't think I'd name my baby that.
*course it's better than the names that Ashley Judds character named her kids, lol*
It's definately VERY southern sounding though, if that is what you were going for.

It reminds of the movie "Where the Heart Is" with Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd. Natalie Portman played Novalee who got pregnant as a teenager, left at an Oklahoma Wal Mart by her boyfriend, lived at Wal Mart for awhile....so on and so forth.

Yes - I think it is a lovely name and have only heard it once or twice before so it is also pretty unusual (a good thing in my opinion). I have seen it spelled the way you have spelled it, Novalee, and also as Novaleigh.

i was actually stuck on a baby name for a girl! I used to love that name, and no, not just because of that movie, loved the movie too though, i want my babies to all have unique names. Alorra Danna is my first, Exavier Ray is second, and mazzy marie is third! I am really thinking of Nova lee - this is how i would spell it, as baby number four! Thank you and i do love and adore this name

i actually think it is very pretty it is a southern sounding name i don't know if that is a plus for you or not (i live in the south so it is a plus for me) i did recognize it from the movie and it doesn't date them it is a cute name you have to get them from somewhere
