Hi, i need to buy a new external hard drive, but i'm not sure which brand or model is the best.
The specifications I already know I need are: 7'2000 RPM, Firewire connection, & At least 250 GB.
I'd really appreciate your help. Thanx.

I just need the extra space and speed, it's not for carrying it around...

I bought a LaCie external hard drive upon recommendation from a friend, and I'm pleased with it. Mine is Ethernet or USB connection, but they do a range of Firewire ones as well. The price vs Gigabytes is coming down all the time.

Why do you need a 250 gig 7200 RPM's firewire?,

Are you going to lug it about? if you are then what you need is something small. that will fit into your pocket.

go for a nexstar 2.5 firewire and usb2 enclosure with a 2,5 laptop hdd, sizes to suit fits in your pocket when traveling

For an external drive, go with a well-known name brand such as Seagate, Western Digital, or Maxtor. That is their specialty and you will have the least problems with them.

I really love my Seagate because I use it for backup and it has a one touch button you push and it does everything else.
