my son is going to be sophmore this august. he has almost failed in biology bcos he said biology is boring! he likes mathematics, history & art. he wanted to take chemistry but the teacher disapproves it. so he takes environmental science reluctantly but still wants to take chemistry? i used to like biology but have no idea abt chemistry. is chemistry boring?

No subject is boring unless he develops an interest for it and it is taught properly.

Chemistry is part mathematical like Physics and part descriptive like Biology. That could be one of the reasons why his teacher disapproves. Environmental Science also has a lot of Chemistry although in the applied form.

Chemistry is very important if you want to be a vet. It's also a requirement for animal science and zoology majors. Environmental science isn't. So, if you want to give yourself a leg up on college level chemistry then take it in high school. Taking honors chemistry in high school was the smartest thing I ever did. I would not have done nearly as well in the college course without it.
