Ummm...I would like to say that everyone is grouped into groups no matter what. My roomate loves pink and I have classified her into the 'pink obsessed people'.
Regarding those stupid, brainless people who think goths cut, please, get a life. I abhor emo as much as you guys do; they simply disgrace goths! We appreciate the dark, what about them? "Oh mummy, I am the dark...the dark shares my pain...*slit*...someone dumped me..."
PLEASE, EMO IS N O T GOTH. EMO IS A SICKENING WHINY TREND that will cease.
Ummm...btw if a person wears a shirt, so does others, don't they make them a group as well? Cheer up and all.
To emos: Sorry for the overly flamming, I know how much that did to your wrists, nevermind, fashion statement to you, yes?

Sheeesh.....of COURSE you are different from everybody else. Everyone is.
Kinda a given.
When you dress or act or even look like an easily discernable "type", you will be automatically be seen as that "type". Why are "goths" sterotyped?
This is called "profiling". The LAPD have had some problems with this, over the last few years.
Everyone conforms, even in Nonconformity. If not, how would you recognize each other?. Pale ,thin, black-eyeliner wearing, self-absorbed, "sensitive" boys, who in former times were called "*******", and pummeled regularly, are nowadays called "goths" and have their own support system.
Reality check time. If you look it, you are it. Sucks, huh?
You have the freedom to express yourself. What a country, eh?
Do not expect acceptance, and if acceptance is not given, you also have the right to whine about it.
Nonconform (in your conformity)! It is your rite of passage!
We, who have been there and done that can say: Nobody gives a rat's patootie.
Have fun while you can.

I think the idea behind it is that by dressing in a certain way, Goths are attempting to not conform to standards that actually don't exist any more. Many people do take notice of Goth people. To someone who sees and notices how a Goth person looks, it appears as if the Goth person looks that way for the sole purpose of standing out, or not corforming to the idea of blending in. But the idea of blending in isn't really enforced in most quarters of American/Canadian/European society any longer. This is why some people sneer at Goths for dressing the way they do: because they appear to be rebelling against rules that haven't been enforced since about 1964. Also, some view the Goth appearance as overly dramatic, almost maudlin.

I dont label myself, but if I did I would prolly call myself goth but anyway, people are stupid and the are way to sterotypical, and they only call goths that cause they are so pathetic and live very stupid lives.

If I were in the woods and saw a dude wearing a flanel shirt and an axe over his shoulder, I would think he was a logger, right. I will only know for sure if I get to know him. Hopefully, your appearance does not keep people from getting to know you. If so, that is a crying shame.

Everybody is conformist. People who say that they are non comformist, are just being comformist to be non comformist.
