Home Depot sells timers you attach to the faucet then the hose. So you could put out a sprinkler which would be timed, but unless you have a very small yard, you'd have to move it. If you have many faucets you could hook up a few, each with it's own timer and sprinkler at the end and be OK.

I dont have a sprinkler. But if I did, I would make it oscillate by threatening it with a chainsaw.

Some of them do. I just finished installing my irrigation system today.
Most of mine are stationary and point to flower beds .
