I feel REALLY bad! :(
I didn't mean to do it, but I was going to wash his work pants and I didn't check the pockets cause he knows to empty them if the pants need to be washed.
anyway...his mp3 player was in his pocket and the tub had already filled up with water.
Now it's sitting on the dresser and the lights wont turn off on it.
He got really mad, started cussing and throwing little things around then he left.
the mp3 player was I think $120.00 and he just bought it like a week ago.
idk if he had a warranty on it either.
I have a different mp3 player and I barely use it, do you think I should give him mine?
or what else can I do?
I have no money to buy him one either....I feel REALLY, REALLY bad.....please help!

it's not an ipod.
I think the brand is Sandisk or Sansa something like that, but I do know it's called the "lil' monster"
the mp3 player I have is called a "bean" cause it looks like a jellybean.
Sony is the brand of mine though.
FYI

I don't think the case can come off just like that, nor does it have a battery thing that can....I'd need a small screwdriver and Im afraid IF I do that I'll put something outta place and really ruin it if its not ruined already.

A warranty wouldn't cover that kind of damage.. BUT...
Let it sit out for a while and dry. Overnight, maybe throughout tomorrow on a cooling rack. There's a very good chance it will survive.

I'm thinking it was an accident because you seem remorseful. But if he's going to get mad and throw things around like a little spoiled brat, and rub it in to make you feel even more awful about the whole thing, screw him !! If this thing was so important to him that he has to throw things around because it got damaged by accident, then perhaps he shouldn't let the thing out of his sight. If you don't have the money to replace it too bad. He, being a full grown adult male, should have a good enough paying job to buy a new one and let you pay him back when you have the money. But if it were me and you were my girl, and you accidentally washed it, and were sorry for the mistake, I would assure you that I still love you, and I would be over instantly. What's more important, you or an MP3 Player?

wow he shouldnt have started throwing things...that's wrong. it was an accident and he should have understood. plus, it was his carelessness for not emptying his pockets!!
i can tell you feel horrible, but don't stress out. just take a moment to breathe. you can always call the manufacturer and ask if there is a warranty, I don't see why there shouldn't be one. I think it's sooo generous of you to give him your mp3 player, but I don't think that's necessary. I think he is over-reacting. but that is really your call
If you have a facebook account (or you can just make one for this purpose), there is a new feature called "marketplace", where people in your network post items that they are selling. some sell things really cheaply (you can even post an ad asking for a chap mp3 player) i once saw an ad by someone who was selling a new iPod mini for 20 dollars, so you may get lucky! you can always check eBay, too.

In the end, i think you should let your boyfriend calm down for a bit and try to explain the situation to him calmly. he should understand that it was a mistake and that you are sorry for it and these things happen. it really was not your fault. maybe you can work out a compromise? share your mp3 player? promise him you will save up for an upcoming event? agree to split the cost of a new one? I hope it goes well =)

of course hes going to mad a little bit! let him cool off then explain how it happened to him, and apologise. DO NOT say that he should have emptied his pockets because then he will se it as shifting the blame and get madder. Offering him your mp3 is a good start and save up to buy him a new one.

Being honestly with him, explains why is this happens, try to offer your mp3 to him if he wants to. Just patient with him, i understand how he got all upset that you ruined it, but it isnt your fault. Every time something happens, it HAPPENS!

Next time, just check the pockets just in case before you ruin everything. Just remma it. I hope everything is going well. I will ;pray for you and your boyfriend =)

Take off the battery cover take out the battery, if you can take of the outside of it lay all the pieces on a towel and use a blow drier on them...it might work it might not, depends on how much water got in.

Its his fault for not taking care of it in the first place. Tell him to grow up. A ruined mp3 player is not the end of the world. If he still has a problem with it, tell him to wash his own damn pants next time!

He should have emptied his pockets! If you don't use yours then you can offer it but as someone said it may be fine after it has dried out. Really though, its his own fault.

It's an object that can be replaced..nobody got hurt. You didn't mean to do it. It was an accident and if he can't accept and realize that then it's his problem. Don't you feel bad you're not to blame...accidents happen to everyone!

Well, try this...have him take the batteries out, take it apart and let it dry for a day or two...then put it back together. Other than that, yes give him your mp3 player and kiss him on the cheek and tell him you are very, very sorry.
