Not the dark itself. It's what might be learking in the dark. The unknown.

I have not been afraid of the dark since I was 6. I love the dark actually. At an early age I learned that there was nothing to be afraid of, and if on the off chance I was afraid of something, I would (and still do) pray about it. I figure if there is something out there that is gonna get me, its gonna get me regardless of whether or not I'm afraid of it!

actually, yes i am. I strongly believe I have a phobia of the dark. I'm 23 years old, and I have to have a night light in the bedroom, the hallway, and the bathroom. My husband's never gotten a drivers license, so I drive him to and from work. It's literally all I can do to get from my front door to the car at night to go pick him up. I leave the lights on in the house when i leave to get him so it's never dark. I don't know what brought it on, but my mom said that I was afraid of the dark my whole life. I hope my daughter doesn't take after me with my phobia, sometime's it can be very inopportune. It's something I have to live with, and I'm okay with it.

No I love the dark, it's peaceful.
Sometimes at night I do get creeped out by the shifting lights and shadows. But that's mostly when I've had a bad dream or if I'm thinking about dolls, clowns or freaky serial killers like the guy from 'Gerald's Game'.
Once I had a dream my creepy neighbour was sawing through my window then woke up to strange shadows in front of my window :) Scary

I used to be extremely afraid of the dark. When I was a little girl I used to sneak out of my room after my parents went to bed to sleep in the clean clothes at the foot of their bed. I used to see and hear things that weren't there due to lights from outside or the wind. I also had a very imaginative mind. I would let it wonder constantly. Now I am not so much afraid unless my husband is out of town. Certain things will frighten me, weird sounds or people outside.

No, I think the dark is peaceful. It is what you make it, but most people are afraid because they have to rely more on a sense other than their sight. It also doesn't help that at night people take the smallest sounds and freak out, but the same sounds could happen in the daylight and they wouldn't be scared.

Most of the time the dark (in urban and suburban areas) is not really that dark so you can see most of what is going on The only time I was scared of the dark was as a kid walking in a rural area with zero lights on the road. That is completely disorienting and every noise or dog barking gives you scary thoughts.

Afraid of the dark molasses? Well, it is a little thick if I'd get stuck in it and moves real slow but tastes so good in gingerbread men. The first thing I do is eat the heads off.

No I'm not afraid of the dark. It's not like thre are ghosts in this world. I mean even if there were it wouldn't matter to them if you were in darkness or lightness.
