Stressful long hours if you work for a big firm. More reasonable, but still somewhat stressful hours at medium-sized firms, money is always decent at big and reasonably sized firms, but you work for it. Usually social events, some travel, professional growth. Not as much time for yourself as you might like. If you're good, the satisfaction of winning some great cases for your clients.
If you're an activist and want to work for law reforms and policy changes you can try to get a government position that would allow you to do something like that, which can be rewarding, but doesn't pay as much.
Some lawyers are respected, some reviled--depends on what kind of law you practice and what kind of a professional network you develop.
Hope this helps.

If you're really good at screwing people and you learn how to exploit loopholes in bad laws, you get to make a lot of money. You also get to be hated and mistrusted by most of the people living on earth ... that's a nice combo!
