I'm a sophomore in HS, I have taken many science classes and read up on becoming a veterinarian, I've wanted to do this for so long. But there's two issues:
-cost
-years spent in college total (8)

Is there any way to reduce one or either of these?

I plan to go to Texas A&M, which is another issue, I've heard that to get in the vet school there you have to have connections, it's not just about grades or experience with animals, which is screwed up.

money wise any doctrine program you can easily get loans usually through the university because if you get accepted they already know your a good person and you can make it so that they don't have you pay back the money until get a job .

for time i know in medicine they have BS/MD program that is 6 years , maybe their is a similar program ?

but is you want to treat something beside domestic animals ,say dolphins you'll need perhaps a marine bio degree and/or a residency in that area

that bring me up to say if you want to specialize say in equine animals or breeding , than you'll add more years on (*2)

i like your fave answer. Yeah, human beings think of the money is excellent. Vets have fee and coverage themes basically like customary docs, yet maximum don't think that. I had a chum who "performed" with this thought. I had to be the suited chum i could desire to and asked him to respond to some no longer ordinary questions like: are you able to take being bitten? are you able to handle blood? How do you take care of an emergency w/an proprietor who would be distraught? are you able to take having to tell people who their animal is heavily sick or loss of life? are you able to place an animal to sleep? tell me the type you will possibly tell someone who there is no longer something you're able to do for thier animal and it must be positioned down? How do you convenience the owner? Afterall, the animal isn't your purely customer. for constructive, my chum did no longer become a vet.
