Templeton (like in Charlotte's Web) or Callie (short for Calico). My guinea pigs are named Wilbur, Willie, Betty, and Ginger. Each name was chosen by my kids and they seem to fit. Hopefully whatever you choose will just seem to fit, too.

When I got my first pet rat, I knew that the life span was going to be very short (ten days = one year in rats). So, I decided that, to help me deal with the grief of losing a pet after maybe only 3 years, I would start at the top of the alphabet and work my way down, as names went. My first rat was a hooded rat, white with a gray hood... My niece knew the rat kitten as "All-gray," so I kept that and added the name Addie... making, "Addie All-gray."

After Addie passed on at the ripe old rat age of 93 (actually a little over 2 and a half years), I took on 2 rats, letters B & C. Beatrix was named for Beatrix Potter... Beatrix was all black with little pink feet... and the other rat was another gray hooded rat; I named her Chloe.

I I hadn't have started collecting stray cats shortly after those two died, I would have adopted another rat and named it Daisy.

So... there's 4 name considerations for ya.
Also, think:
names of favorite cities or countries
names of trees
names of flowers
names of spices
names of streets in your community
names of favorite bands or celebrities...
The list of sources to draw names from is limited only by your imagination...

I love the name Peaches for a rat, I think rats are sooo cute, dont you think so? I once had 24 mice and 16 rats and each of them had a name that was similar to peaches.
I just love rodents

A few female name choices for your precious baby rat:

Abbi
Babs
Jay
Macie
Sallie
Chuchu

I think Macie suits it best, it sounds sweet and very suitable from how you've described her. That's my opinion anyway. I thought Chu-chu is cute too and quite funny!

If I HAD to name a RAT and be nice about it (lol sorry) I'd probably name it Templeton or D.J.
