My point? Over 500,000 Iraqi casualties and what's my point? They're human beings for God's sake. What the hell is wrong with some people?

Iraqis, Americans, and The World were so much safer before the invasion and occupation. Iraq was never a threat but now it is.

What?? I can't believe someone actually wrote that the world was "safer" before 9-11. Tell that to the people the died in the towers. Tell that to the families of the fallen troops.
Ignorance is bliss. You should have said the world "felt" safer before 9-11, but now you have to wake up to the reality that is our world. There are armies of people who's sole purpose in life is to kill Americans simply because we are American.
Back to the 500,000 body count: So are you saying that we shouldn't have gone to war with Iraq? Are you saying that we shouldn't have "let" the terrorists attack us on 9-11? (Like it was a choice...)
Kind of sounds like you are alarmed at the number of people dying but not tying it to any position. People die in war. Would you rather it be the other way around?
One of the best things about humans is that we are willing to die for our beliefs. One of the worst is that we are willing to kill others in order to uphold them.

Are you saying that the 500,00 Iraqis is the fault of the Us and Coalition forces? This number seems awful high.
We Liberated the people from Saddam, no one knew that it would turn into a Civil War. Sect against Sect. And there is no way to stop this Sectarian violence. These people have fought against each other since the time of Abraham.
I know the US has spent in the Billions trying to help Iraq.
The lost of life on either side is a waste of life and it should stop. But if the US & the Coalition Forces pulls out
what are the Iraqis going to do? We have tried helping these people and now they do not won't anyone to help.
They will be under the control of Al-Quada and they will murder all of them. So, what is the answer? I don't know.
But my Nephew left Monday headed for Iraq, just pray for a safe return. He is a Father with three small children.

I can not speak for all Americans I can only say that in spite of reading and hearing about Iraq every day, I truly don't know the exact numbers of Iraqi dead.
It is a tragedy, regardless of the number.
My question to you is. Do you realize how little say we as Americans have in this whole matter? Do you think I can just call the president and tell him what to do? Just because we vote every now and then does not mean we run things. I have next to zero say for or against the war.
People talk about the war protest in the Vietnam war but forget the years and years of massive protest it took before the war ended. Even then it was not the protesters but mainstream leaders like Walter Cronkite who finally turned the powers that were, against the war.
Sorry, but wrong number the American people had their say last November and will have another say in November 08.
Till then I will not worry but be Happy

I do not believe that number to be credible and even if it were, I don't believe we are responsible for the hatred that's motivated these killings. Our own culture has become one of " blame America first" No great power in human history has wielded it's power with the compassion and restraint the United States does. The U.S. could simply wipe out it's enemies and confiscate their natural resources. Instead, we bleed for other's potential for liberty, and it makes my stomach turn at the criticism we take for it at home and abroad. What would happen if an Islamic theocratic nation had the military means of the US? I don't guess there would be too many left to criticize anything would there. They'd be dead.

Muslims are killing Muslims. They are also killing anyone else who doesn't believe the way they do. I grieve for our troops, not for the filthy creatures, they are there to free. The more Muslims killed, the less who will find a point in their lives to go jihad and blow up truly innocent people.

Are you serious?
Iraq was never a threat before?
Are you on drugs?
Do you remember someone with the surname Hussein! Ummm! Saddam,
Not a threat!
So what if 500,000 have died!
That's 500,000 less for us to worry about!!

In the past 75 years, there have been five major world terrorists that have plagued the globe with their bloodthirsty appetites:
Joseph Stalin massacred 10 million of his countrymen, then died peacefully in his sleep;
Adolph Hitler gassed 6 million Jews and committed suicide before being brought to justice;
Idi Amin killed 2 million people in Uganda and retired in luxurious 'exile';
Saddam Hussein murdered more than a million Iraqis and was hanged by the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration;
George W. Bush has killed 675,000 Iraqis and 3,300 U.S. soldiers, and has yet to be held accountable or has accepted any responsibility for his horrendous actions.
Isn't it time for Bush and his murderous cronies to be tried for high crimes against humanity in an international tribunal, and - if convicted - be hanged just as he arranged to hang Hussein?? -RKO- 05/19/07

Probably well aware but not bothered.
At least no more bothered than they were over killing British soldiers in a "friendly fire" incident during which the guys involved were heard to say "We're in jail, Dude" & "I feel sick". He probably felt sick because of the jail time & not because of the soldiers he had just killed because lets face it, he was there to kill people.

I know that the figure you gave is inflated by about a factor of 10. I also know that most Iraqi civilian deaths have been inflicted by other Arabs.
