A lot of newer models sewing machines do not require threading. I have the Babylock Ellegante, which threads itself on the push of a button. It's awesome! I also have had a Babylock Ellure which had a threading assistant, you still had to put it through the path, but then there was a little level you push to thread it. Also nice!

I think the top of the line Vikings, like the Designer SE and Janomes (like seen on the View) also do this.

I think even one of the Brother machines at Wal-Mart does this. Most embroidery machines will have the self-threading mechanisms.

I'm not sure what machine was given away on The View, but this is what I found:

Instead of sewing it "meshes" the fabric together. Is this what you were looking for?

I actually found a Janome that doesn't require thread either, but both of these machines are for needle felting, not really for sewing.
