I was outside today, listening to my John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band CD, when my boyfriend and his friend and his friend's girlfriend (did you get that? lol) pulled up. The girl asked me who I was listening to, so I said John Lennon. Then she asked me something that amazed me...."And who is that?"
At first I thought she was joking. However, it turns out she wasn't. I told her that he was a Beatle. She then asked "That's an older band, isn't it?"....my goodness! I was just sort of shocked. I then went into the house and got my copy of the White Album. I gave it to her to listen to...I told her to listen and learn. Then I asked her if she knew who Elvis was (jokingly)...lol
Are there really a lot of people out there that do not know who John Lennon is? Or, was she just one in a million? I know a lot of the younger generation (which is me...I'm only 18) listens to nothing but mainstream rap and pop, but to not know who John Lennon is? That's just astounding...

Yes of course i know who he is. And im only 14.It is astounding to not know who is. He had great influence on the ppl. He had a great talent. THere is great deocumentray film about him called "The U.S. V.S John Lennon.

I LOVE THE BEATLES9 i am only 14, john Lennon is my idol, it's not just her a lot of teens etc. listen to the crap they call rap. the beatles like invented rock how is it that people don't know that? uhhh it aggrivates me

ohmigoodness that is so sad that she doesn't know who john lennon is! i'm 16 and i grew up listening only to the beatles! that poor girl...going her whole life without knowing.......ok i'm exaggerating but wow!
