I will probably have to go through some kind of help from modern science to get pregnant i.e. in-vitro. Does anyone know if it is possible to request to have more than one child through any process like this? Basically, can I choose to have triplets?

You could probably increase your chances of having some sort of multiple birth by doing in vitro fertilization. However, multiple births are dangerous. While multiple births are special, by choosing one over a single birth, you would be putting yourself and your future children in unnecessary danger. Make sure you educate yourself about the additional risks that come with having triplets.

I think they will place several to give you the best chance of ONE taking... and then some people get lucky (or not so, depending on your point of view) and have multiples. But no, you can't guarantee that you'll get triplets, and I can't imagine that any responsible doctor would want to aim for that intentionally... You're talking lower birthweights and higher risks with each additional fetus.

You can choose to have three embryos placed, but most do not end up as multiples pregnancies. You're lucky if you get one. Many clinics are now putting restrictions on how many embryos can be placed because so many triplet and higher order pregnancies end in heartbreak.

No. It has to do with genetics and a quirk in the conception process. Once you have sex and are pregnant, there's nothing you can do to induce having triplets.

Sorry no. But if you go invitro, your chances of multiples increase dramatically. But your luck is slim because it all depends on mother nature to decide if that many or more come out. lol.
