leave your door open so you can call your parents for help
let your dog sleep in your room
keep your baseball bat in bed with you
run a string with some bells on it and string it around your bed on the floor.

Make sure your house is locked, doors and windows, when you go to bed. You could call the police and ask them to advise you if the locks you currently have are what they recomend. Get a big scary barking dog and let him roam your yard at night. Leave an outside light on. Have a phone by your bedside. Make sure the phone cable isnt exposed outside so that it cant be cut. Know for certain the correct number to ring the police. Put a motion detector outside your bedroom window, and in the hall leading to your bedroom. . Get a good lock on your bed room door, and use it. Get a tazer to dislable an intruderand keep it in a bedside table. Figure out a nearby trustworthy neighbours house you could run to. Also a neighbours phone number you could ring at night for help.
If you were asleep at night and the dog started barking that would alert you something might be wrong. If you were concerned you could ring the police and grab the taser. If it really was an intruder approaching your bedroom you would have help on the way, and a tazer ready to use. Disable the intruder with it, and run to the neighbours.

Sounds to me like there's a crazy on the loose. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to have actually hurt anyone yet. Tell your parents you're afraid. Maybe you can put a roll away bed in their room until this nutjob is caught.

Tell your parents you are scared. They'll be able to tell you what security measure you have in your home that won't allow this to happen to you . One thing you can do is make sure all doors are lacked before you go to bed, and that your window is lacked.

Again, tell your parents that you are scared.. They'll be able to ease your concerns.

Don't you have responsible parents and locks on doors & windows?

You live in Texas, there's guns all over the place.
