No, that's not true even in SOME cases. Well, at least not when they live in a community in America where there aren't that many Mexicans but lots of Spanish; they tend to get along pretty well. I wouldn't believe one person :). That's probably just her and/or her family/friends who are that way. The ones I know (and there are TONNNS) aren't like that.

Spain is part of Europe, not the Americas. It's not that hard to understand. People find differences to get upset about in all sorts of things.
What's funny is how many Hispanic and Spanish people dislike black people.
They forget that when the Moors conquered much of south-western Europe, they interbred with much of the population, turning the mostly blond and fair-skinned Spanish into dark haired, swarthy-skinned individuals.
When Spain conquered some of South American and Central America, they did the same thing, breeding with the population and bringing many of them back to Spain.
What is funny is that an amazing number of them are descended from Africans!
Bigotry is silly. Go back far enough, my ancestors are African! (I'm of European and First American ancestry).

I find that each latin country thinks their's is the best.....sort of like Americans thinking we're the best when our health care, education and crime levels are worst than most other industrialized countries. Most Spaniards prefer Mexicans to Americans. I agree with Guy that most hispanics get tired of being called mexican because Americans are geographically challenged.

yes. Indians (Aztecs) were raped by Spanish in their conquering times. So a mixture of Aztec and Indian is a Mexican so they think they are inferior. It makes them mad to be called Hispanic because they are European

From what I have heard- they don't like to be called or confused with mexicans because they are not. Both are their own race.
