can anyone else ,where its dark, see the star next to the moon right now? it looks cool.

it is not a star,but a planet. it's venus

That "star" is the planet Venus, and its been that bright in the western sky for months (since about mid-January).
Every 8 years or so the orbits of Venus and the Earth align so that Venus is very bright (you can even see it in the daytime if you know where to look).
