Mine is currently termed "desktop replacement" basically a "portable" with a full size keyboard and ten key and a 17" screen. it weighs in at a hefty 7+lbs. Mine is a HP dv90005 series. Lots of stuff built in, plenty of room. I am onXP also and I am very hesitant to go Vista. it is too quirky like somebody let the programmers out without checking on them. It does not appear to be much of an integrated system just a bunch of parts kind of glued together without much effort expended on how the parts interface and integrate. But if you are MS you get to tell the world what they want and to hell with the users. Vista dispite its hype and new screen features is not an improvement, just another money hole for users and better cash flow for MS.
