yes, i had a previous c-sectin without complication in 2002. however... over the last 5 yrs. following the c-section i have had teeth worked on at the dentist's, and have "reacted" to the numbing anesthetic. before my c-section, this never happened at the dentist's. one time 911 was even called. i ended up ok, but if a little of it caused me to experience rapid breathing patterns, shaking, racing thoughts, faintness, dizziness, and rapid heart rate, what will happen when so much MORE is administered? is it possible that i developed some sort of allergy post c-section? i HAVE had the anesthetic without epinephrine and it still caused problems, just not as intense. allergy or fight or flight reaction?

Ask your doctor's office to arrange a meeting with an anesthesiologist to discuss your reactions. It is likely to be a specific drug that causes you problems and they usually have an alternative. Very likely you can speak to the anesthesiologist who will actually be working that day, since your c-section is planned.

You can have anesthesia 15 times and then get a problem time 16. It's not unusual. Now that they know a specific one is a problem, it's best to use something else.

1. Discuss this with the doctor ASAP.
2. To ease your worry, I had a second c-section and it was a breese compared to the first! I guess there was a lot of scar tissue doen there but I swear it was practically painfree the next day. It was surreal!
3. Ask for percaset (sp.) It really helps!
Good luck...

I would talk to your doctor about it tell him about your reactions and let him know off the bat so they can plan accordingly. Usually they can give you something different or test you before hand to make sure everything would go fine.
