No it will not unfortunately. You will have to re-install the AV software. It would be helpful if I new which one it was.

Here are the ones that I would recommend (in order of preference)

Not free ones........

http://www.eset.com/
(30 day free trial) NOD32 is very good and is not resource heavy. It will not slow your computer down.

http://www.kaspersky.com/
(30 day free trial) Also very comprehensive, I do like NOD32 a little better but both are very good.

Freebies...........

http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

Do not let these free versions scare you. They are both as good as the paid AV's. Do not get the paid version af AVG though, it will slow your computer down.

Before installing any of these, make sure you uninstall the one that you have on the computer now. You cannot have two AV's on your computer at a time.

By all means, do not get Norton or McAfee!!!!! They both work, but both of them are pricey, and both of them will eventually slow your computer down. I have picked "stuff" up with AVG that Norton missed.

The choice is now yours......Research each of them and make an educated choice. Remember, what works for me may not work for you. But, I will tell you this, all four of these AV's will do the job for you.

Good Luck!!!!!!!

attempt this: 'Antivirus utilities can influence no matter in case your device might want to be restored to a previous aspect. If a restore aspect incorporates an contaminated record because the software isn't set to sparkling the record in the restore aspect, or if an contaminated record has been removed from a restore aspect by technique of an antivirus software because it would want to no longer be wiped clean, device restore gained't recuperate the computing gadget to this partial or contaminated state. If device restore might want to no longer restore your computing gadget to a previous state, and also you think that one or better restore factors incorporate contaminated information or have had contaminated information bumped off by technique of the antivirus software, you are able to eliminate all restore factors from the device restore archive by technique of turning off device restore and then turning it decrease back on.'

no , it wouldn't , but u can always uninstall the new one from add/remove programs in control panel , and if u have the source of the old virus protection you can just re-install it , it's very simple.

Yes it will as long as you select a date that was before you installed the new AV.
