EMO is just a new word that's been invented to insult people and make them feel bad. The original meaning has unfortunately been completely lost. A lot people get there kicks from causing other people pain and confusion and this is an easy way to do it. (FYI - the act of getting pleasure from causing others pain is also known as Satanism)
According to the standing definition of EMO it's someone who shows allot of emotion, which could mean anybody who's not a metal robot. The really devious part is people who get called emo will immediately feel bad about it, even if they don't know what it means, which only strengthens the claim of that person being emo.
I'd recommend read Star-Belly Sneetches by Dr. Seuss. It may be a children's book but it carries a deep meaning and an important lesson that people in this day and age soon forget.

Absolutely nothing, as I'm no longer in high school. At the time? It meant people who dressed a certain way, or were overly emotional, or emotionally fragile. I have a couple friends that were considered "emo" back in the day. They both suffered from bipolar depression.
Ignore people who attempt to assign you labels. They don't care who you are, just what pants you put on that day.

emo -- poser --- annoying --- immature
if people are calling you that they are proly not doggin your personality just making the observation that you tend to wear dark colors or have dark hair or whatever. lol!

Teenager with dyed black hair, black clothes and is outwardly depressed.
I believe they were called "Goth" 5 years ago.
