Because technology has made more of us lazy... we don't need to use common sense when it's always given to us. Take for example, a plastic storage tote. One with common sense would think... if I put a toddler into this tote and close the lid he will not be able to breathe because air cannot be circulated... nowadays, we need a big label on the tote to TELL us not to put a toddler in a tote because it may be harmful. Same with poison.. label says.. harmful if swallowed.. really? no sh*t! that's why you're buying poison right... to harm something? UGH!!! The lamest is direction on shampoo... if you can't determine that you need to wet your hair, put some shampoo in your hair, move it around and rinse it... you probably shouldn't be living unassisted.
People need to think and stop being so lawsuit happy about certain things.

Because everything is handed to them on a plate and they aren't required to think for themselves. We call them sheeple.

IE...tag on a hairdryer "don't use in water" DUH. Hemmorhoid gel, "don't use in the eyes"---All it takes is a little common sense, but so much has become ruled by stupidity that what people might ordinarily have to have considered for themselves has already been thought through. It's a part of the get rich quick, sue everybody generation. People aren't required to THINK anymore.

I have friends that have done really stupid things and then were shocked by the results. I always shake my head and wonder what on earth they were thinking. It's like people cannot deduce a final result or reaction ahead of time. I don't get it either...Makes no sense that people aren't smart enough to take preventative measures on their own.

I don't think people are taught the importance of thinking things through. I'll have what seems at the first look, a good idea, but after thinking it though, it's not. So many people don't stop to think. They just act.

What a great Q. The best I can figure is that we don't need it. Stupid people take up a larger %. It has become acceptable for people to be stupid. All we can do is adapt or start waisting em. pintobns said it. Thinking has become unnecessary.

A- we believe everything the media and educators tell us and don't think for ourselves.

B- our society excuses bad behavior saying it's a disease or someone else's fault... if there are no, or at least few, consequences, why should i care?
