Keep it with you...sounds like common sense to me. I think if I lost just one I would have learned a lesson.

Well, never put them down then. You haven't given quite enough info--where and when do they get stolen? At work? When you go out at night? From your car?
I'd be more annoyed at losing my keys and i.d. than losing the actual purse.
Obviously you need to choose a style w a shoulder strap. There are some places where I think you should never carry a purse--for example, to a nightclub. There are no safe places to put a purse and it's a drag carrying it around. Just put your keys, id, and money in your pocket.
If you can make it just a tiny bit harder for a thief he will bypass you and move on to another object of prey. For example, when I wear a backpack I use a safety pin to pin the zipper closed. It wouldn't stop a gunman, but it's too much of a bother for a pickpocket.

I agree, it sounds like you are being careless with your things. I have never once had a purse stolen from me. Maybe you should try and think if they get stolen in similar situations. Do you go to house parties a lot? Does it happen in school or out in public? Take notice of where it's happening and make sure to keep your purse on you at all times in those places.

Stop putting them down, why dont you try using a small clutch when your out hanging out and the handbags or purses on special occassions. Or just be more careful, Im sure you value what in your purse so you need to pay close attention or keep it in your lap

Buy a purse with a shoulder strap, and hold on to it! If you are in a very crowded place, wear it across your chest. At a restaurant or the movies, hold it in your lap. If you are shopping with a friend and want to try something on, ask them to hold it for you.
Boyfriends/husbands should be trained to hold purses as well.

Well for starters, dont put your purse down, not even for one second. if that doesnt work then maybe try keeping a wallet in your pocket instead.

My purses used to get stolen to so I brought me a gucci fanny pack. U can put around your waist or wear it cross your back like a one strap backpack.

Purse = bag to put personal things in....
Lot of folks are using fanny packs and/or Back-paks.
Kinda hard for these items to get stolen off your person.

You shouldn't put them down and you probably need to watch them VERY carefully. Theives always look for a person who isn't paying much attention, so watch out!
