Thx

Linux weren't fully supported under 2004, as Microsoft didnt really like Linux at the time.

Never tried VPC2004 with Home as I have always used Pro

Word of Caution: although the Microsoft website and this amazon page claims that Virtual PC is for Windows XP, when I installed my download free version, it claims to only support Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional, and will provide no technical support to platforms other than those two. I have XP Home, and it installed and ran fine.

Alternatively, go with a non microsoft product.

VMWare do a number of applications... one of which is free for personal use (with registration required)... that do virtualisation. VMWare is older and more industry standard than Windows virtualisation product...

And I am using it on win2k to run Linux. So far Ubuntu and RedHat both run fine. Plus I'm using it on a Linux platform to run Win2k... and it supports WinXP, Win2k3, Win98, Win95 and EVEN Win3.1!

It works!
