I have heard these cars were a step down from a GTO,and a step above the T-37. I was just curious if someone knew of any left in existence. I know that Pontiac didn't make the T-37 in '73 anymore,so I guess it would have been a step up from a Grand Am.

You are mixing up a lot of things.

The T-37 was introduced as a subseries of the Tempest, which it eventually replaced. This was in 1970.

They also released the GT-37, which was Pontiac's version of the Road Runner. This too lasted through 1971.

In '72, the lineup was shuffled and the Lemans became the bottom trim level. The Lemans GT was made to succeed the GT-37, although it was more GTO Lite than Pontiac Road Runner. The GT continued on through '77, maybe? They're not so rare, but very few survived. Is this what you're talking about?

Forget the Grand Am . . . that was tops in '73.

Friend of mine had a 72 in high school with the 350 4 barrel and dual twin splitter exhaust behind the rear tires--cool car and pretty fast...might have been the T-37 now that I think about it. Try Hemmings.com or get subscription.
