I am an American who is teaching at a University in China. Are connections to the ssa.gov site blocked if from China?

China blocks more Internet sites than they allow. If you can't access a site from China, they probably block the site.

China has been known to block sites that they don't want to "allow".
Try dropping the www and just type in ssa.gov
I did that and it went straight there.
If that does not work, than I would say that they have blocked it for one reason or another.
