even when i'm busy and in middle of something, sometimes i get flash backs of old days specially good moments, i almost can smell it, every single detail, amazing how memory works. but the weird thing is that its not even relevant to what i'm thinking of or what i'm doing!

does that happens to you? how often? why?

Flashbacks are usually triggered by something. If you smell something, hear a certain noise, or touch something, it can trigger something that happened years ago that may seems completely irrelevant, but really tie into what you're doing at that very moment.

It's happened to be often, yes. Nearly every day.

You are a very lucky person if you only have flashbacks of the "good moments", as you like to call them. I'm not sure that is the case for most people, but perhaps then it is called post traumatic stress syndrome. I am fortunate in that I do not have any tragic situations that might trigger horrible flashbacks, but I have had some very real "close calls", and I do have flashbacks about them. They can be very unpleasant.. They are completely random, and usually are triggered by similar type events, or images of similar events. Negative images on the television can trigger flashbacks for me, but sometimes I am unfazed and other times I react. I cannot explain why this is.

I live in the present, search and seek out the future, but relive the past daily...good and not-so good...just a part of me I accept...look at it this way, if your memories are not so nice (luckily for you they are nice)...if you do not learn from the past, you're damned to relive it...so I recall my past and use it always...LOL...and still make mistakes. The falshbacks I experience seldom have to do with what I am going through. I can hear feel and taste them as well...they are like me...they just are

oh I get these everytime. the exact same thing happens to me. most of them are of when I was a kid, playing with my dog, or nintendo; I can almost taste the cookies I was eating at that moment when I was playing super mario bros. lol. it's weird but i enjoy having those flashbacks once in a while.

You might have some misconnected neurons, accidentally took some psychedelic drugs, or you are a Cylon.

I get that too, but more often with guilt, like I remember something I did that hurt someone and kick myself again.

You are blessed. Memories--both good and bad-- are stored in the body. That is why this happens. They can be triggered by a variety of things you may not be aware of.

It happens to me a lot. I also get premonitions. It happens to me, about 3-5 times a week. For me anyway. Everyone's a little different. But if you're kinda sad or depressed, your body will take you back to thoes times where you felt most like yourself.
