Depends on many things. Do you have access to the machine he uses to send mails? Do you have admin privileges on that machine? If so, install something like sspro from http://www.gpsoftdev.com . You will need to change the antivirus and anti-spyware rules to prevent it being spotted though.
Does he use a webmail (e.g. yahoo) or pop3 based account (e.g. accessed via outlook)? If it's webmail, then if you know him well, you may know the answer to his secret "forgot password" question (first pet name or something) and can get his password that way. If it's POP3, then sspro will be needed.
Alternatively, a hardware keystroke logger than is basically a special cable between the keyboard and computer can record all keystrokes.

So you know there's cheating----and you're STILL involved?????????? Instead of trying to spy you should leave and get on with your life and not portray the weakling who will continue to get walked over and walked on. That's no kind of life for anyone. i know a website you have to buy the software but it's good. the links are on teh left side of the screen you'll see the one you need for computer tracking check that one i believe it's what you needed

If it's on both of your computer then yes.
However if it's just his, that is against the law. People have been put into jail for doing that.

just confront you partner.....but your evidence must be a bit flimsy...if you are wrong you will lose trust if you have tried to 'catch them out' and also be mindful of your legal responsibilities too regarding invasion of privacy.
