yes but most modern pcs' use a dual channel settup and its much faster performance if u have two identical sticks in the proper slots ...

for most motherboards yes you can. If you have the motherboard manual (computer hardware manual) it should tell you how many memory slots and the memory it can handle.

However which ever is of the slowest speed should be in memory slot 1 (to avoid problems).

Yes, as long as the speed (mhz number) is the same. And the larger chip should go in the first slot.
